A new Banking Virus virus is spreading throughout the world. The Indian cybersecurity agency ' Indian Computer Emergency Response Team' has given a warning for Android users in India. According to them a new Banking Virus named 'EventBot' is spreading.

It steals the Data from your banking app and other financial apps. It also reads the PIN of several banking apps.

Here are the things that Android users should know...

What does it do?

As per the cybersecurity agency of India:

• It steals the data from financial apps.
• It can read the SMS and can intercept them.
• It can break your OTP.

Which app it targets?

CERT-India warns that it targets more than 100 apps, including banking app, bank wallets, and other financial apps. The major apps it targets are Paypal Business, Revolt, Barclays, Unicredit, CapitalOne UK, HSBC UK, etc. It can share all the security codes to the hacker and he can steal the victim`s funds.

NOTE:

At this moment, apps that are targeted mostly US, UK and Europe region-based. Till now it is not targeting the Indian based app on google play store
